Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care


Overview

This qualification is suitable for learners who are preparing for direct employment in the sector or who may wish to expand on what they have already studied at lower levels. This qualification will allow learners to progress further to a higher level of education, and is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

The qualification itself must be a minimum of 180 credits and retrieve 80 credits from mandatory units:

  • Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care
  • Development through the life stages
  • Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care
  • Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care (requires 100 hours of work experience)
  • Sociological Perspectives for Health and Social Care
  • Psychological Perspectives for Health and Social Care


With a further 100 credits from optional units.
