Health and Social Care

Did you know in 2013, total spending on healthcare in the UK, from both public and private sectors was £150.6 billion? This was an increase of 2.7% on the amount spent in 2012 and is over two and a half times higher than the amount spent in 1997, when healthcare spending was £54.9 billion.

The BTEC level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care provide much of the underpinning knowledge for the National Occupational Standards in Health and Social Care/Health and consequently act as a robust introduction to both sectors. They prepare you for employment in the sectors or for higher education.

They are also mapped to the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework, which was developed as part of the Agenda for Change process for updating the way NHS staff roles are defined and developed.
